I remember your father in Gym class. He coached basketball too, I believe. Also my wife, who went to Polytecnic H.S., remembers Linda Rueda , too. There is a site devoted to Wilson, but I can't find it right now. Facebook,I don't know, but I think they have a group. I'll check, and get back to you.

Denise, I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Both my husband and I attended WW over some 40 years ago. I remember your dad. He was a very handsome man and I think he was engaged to another PE teacher, a blond, if I remember correctly? He was always very nice and friendly. I asked my husband if he remembered your dad and if so, what in particular. He said your dad had a good sense of humor and was always making students laugh. He always said he was one of the good teachers in that he took the extra time to help students. I hope you find your dad's page on Facebook.

Hello,

We were so happy that Mr. Rueda came to the reunion in 2010!!! And so very saddened to hear when he passed. He was a good person!

We do not have anything on Facebook to my knowledge but I dont use that much. We do have a website for just the first 3 graduating classes (64,65,66). Go to www.woodrowwilsonreunion.net and see what weve done. There are a couple photos of him.

Thanks so much for getting in touch,

Thelma Larson Cramer S65

Subj: Mr Rueda

Really, did you sent out a msg re Mr Rueda passing away? If so, please let me convey my condolences. I attended Wilson 1970-1972 (graduated 1 year early). Mr Rueda was by far my favorite teacher there. I think some of the students teasingly nicknamed him "Taco Rueda". It was an affectionate nickname at the time as we was liked by all. I think, either in my yearbook,or personal photo (somewhere),I have a photo standing next to him. Other than coaching Sports and teaching boys PE, I THINK I had him for one of my Spanish classes. If he taught Driver's Ed, I think I had him for that too. I just recalled that I talked to him a lot. He knew how to interact well with the students, whether teasing or having a conversation. I've often thought that I stopped there one day, I would visit him. I'm sorry to hear he is gone. My memories of him will always be good ones. I'm sure you must be proud of the man he was and will always be (in our memories).

I will try to dig up my old yearbook.

Again, please let me extend my condolences.
