Wondering if anyone remembers cruise with one Marine aboard, not much
orientation to the workings of the boat, was in the radio space jammed into the
far corner as some equipment was being moved and pressed my butt on some lever
that caused a antenna to shoot up at a very inappropriate time, soon thereafter
had a chat with the Skipper in the Officer's mess

Was wondering if anyone that was aboard during my brief cruise could help
explain the false start episode and reasons perhaps for the inability of the
boat snorkle and recharge at the time,,,,
I am thinking it is due to proximity
to 'others' problem. Was wondering if there are cruise records available similar
to 'after action reports' of the Marines in Vietnam for example. I am in the
process of gathering information for completion of a VA application and although
I have nothing but the best regard of the way the Boat Sailors took care of this
old Nam vet, it seems that I have some recollections of the problems with the
cruise that are probably linked to the extended combat on the ground in Vietnam
and the Navy aircraft shootdown incident that I was involved in prior to joining
the boat but events of that trip are woven into the rememberances.
I would really appreciate some help with details of this special brief
deployment as it is important to my family in the future.
Thank you
Sgt. J.Mac USMC

Glad you found the site. Hope you enjoyed it.
If you have any stories from your time aboard that you could share, I would
dearly like to get them.
Semper Fi!
