No, actually, my real name is J.D. Kotrla-Chipps - nicknamed Pivo.
My real name back then was J.S. Kotrola - nicknamed Pivo, but it's been changed three times since then.
Anyone remember the time we were having ORI drills, specifically man overboard drills, and I was on the starboard cubicle as senior controllerman. All of the stopping, and reversing, and starting caused the main motor field rheostat to overheat, and start smoking.
I passed the word on the 7 MC to bridge and control that there was a fire in maneuvering room.
The XO, who was conducting the drills passed the word on the 1MC to, "Belay that last word, I didn't schedule a fire in maneuvering". I replied on the 7MC, "Well sir, I don't know who scheduled it, but we have one going".
The next day, someone, (no names, to protect the guilty) put a note on the XO's desk that read, "Today is going to be thursday, if it's OK with you", and signed it God.
