Hi, Joe!

I have your name as Joe (Pivo) Cameron.

Well, the Joe, and Pivo are right. Not sure where the Cameron comes from, except that's where I was born.

Last name was Kotrola, then changed to Kotrla, then to Kotrla-Chipps.  Back in 1957, it was Kotrola.

Pictures are in the mailbox, and will be on the way to you today. I wrote names on the back, of those I could remember.

Perhaps others will be able to fill in the blanks

Please do send them back after you scan them.

Hi, Shipmate:

Sounds Great!

I have a dandy HP ScanJet 630Cse and have scanned lots of photos for the website. Please send them to me .......... and let me know if you want them back.

I'll get them off to you, and I definitely want them back.

By the way, what is your full name, and what was your time aboard and rate/rank on Diodon?

It's been awhile, so the dates aren't exact, but I think I came aboard sometime in early 57. Patrick J. Hannifin was the C.O.

I was fresh out of sub school, and qualified and made third class on the WestPac trip of 57. I think that L.O.(Lube Oil) Smith relieved P.J. Hannifin, in Hong Kong, on that trip.

I came aboard as a EMFN, Joe S. Kotrla (Pivo), think I left as a 2nd class. I served on a couple other boats, then as my re-enlistment bonus, I requested the Diodon again.

Jim,

I was just sent an envelope full of old Diodon pictures. Taken back in '57. Most of them, on the way to Australia.

If you have some means of scanning and posting them, I'll send them to you. There are about 35 shots of various crew members.

Let me know
