George was on the boat from Sqd.5 that fired the first WIRE-GUIDED TORPEDO some time between 1960 and 1964. It was a historic occasion with lots of Brass in attendance. Special post-cards were stamped with a one time use stamp.
If we can come up with some clues to the name of the boat or know someone that received one of those cards maybe a start. He sent one of the cards to my house in S.D. but never reached our house, some mail person must have grabbed it.
I think it was one of the 2 or 3 FAST ATTACK boats in sqd. 5. Hope someone can solve this mystery.
