Subject: about your site
Dear Jim,
Glenn Booth put me on to your Diodon site. You've
done a great job with it.
I served on the Dirty "D" from Dec '54 to
Aug '57.
Qualified 15 Mar '55 as an ETSN, and made ET1(SS) in
one cruise.
Lived in Sunnyvale for 25 years - just off
Ticonderoga. Was an electrical engineer for Litton Systems and
later Argo Systems. Retired and moved to northern Minnesota in
'93.
Became a Ham a few years ago. KB0YUO (that's a zero
after KB). Am a General now but am going for my Amateur Extra
this summer.
Am presently writing about Diodon's '56-'57 Westpac
cruise and have scanned some photos into the text. I have a nice
broadside of the Diodon with Hunters Point in the back ground taken
after our shipyard overhaul in '55.
Skippers were REM Conwell, P.J. Hahhifin and LO
Smith.
Got a great picture taken in Sagami Wan (Tokyo Bay)
with the Florikan's rescue bell on our forward hatch while we are on
the surface. Long story there.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
Regards, Don Messner
