Walt (Wall) Levander, TM2(SS)

Updated 09-20-04
One night, over in WestPac while in the Yokosuka, Japan base, in 1967, as I recall, Wally and I stayed up 24 hours. We took the notion to completely revamp Tubes Aft by repainting all of the trim work, and polishing the four torpedo tube doors to mirror finish.
We so impressed our room boss, TM2(SS) Stanley Swedbloom and the Chief Torpedoman, that they gave us the whole next day off. Well, that is one memory that still lingers and is now posted.
By the way, I still have the Foul Weather Jacket the Wally gave to me so many years ago.

Mex" lead me to this site and I thank him. Santos was a great competitor and I also thank him for this site.
What ever happened to Jim Hand, Zuck, and Bear. Stanley (the Steamer) is gone, but lives in my heart!
