PROFILES
John Holsenback
I left the Power in June '66 and
finished my enlistment on board Diodon SS-349
home-ported in San Diego. I put down roots in Imperial Beach,
CA (the most southwesterly city) where in September of '68 I
began a 28 year public safety career (firefighter to chief '68
to '81 then public safety director from '82 to '96). I have
three adult childen: Dan, 36 is an attorney
Steven, 33 is a fourth year medical student and Marnelle, 34
lives in Toronto and is the mother of our only grandchild.
My wife Karen is
Canadian and we recently relocated to a home on Lake Nipissing
in North Bay, Ontario where part of the year I can "walk
on water". We enjoy retirement and the leisurely pace of
Northern Ontario plus it's only a four hour drive to visit our
grand-daughter, Beau.
I've stayed in touch
with Aubrey Barras through the years and it would be nice to
know "what's up" with other ship-mates.
