Hey Jim...
Found this photo of me receiving my
dolphins. It looks like I was an RMSN(SS), with Carmack standing to my
left, and Smedley QMSN(SS) behind us. Aside from Captain Sweet, the only
other name I remember is the COB....Chief Carnes.
Also attached is a
large photo of the boat... don't know if I saw it on the website or not.
Thanks again for all the work you've done to preserve some old
memories....

Hey Jim...
Believe I got my fish in December 1966.... I know I hated being a non-qual, so I
worked hard and got my fish while we were at Hunters Points for an interim yard
period. Mr. Steckler, the Engineer, took me on my final walk thru.
Don't know when the Diodon photo was taken. Nothing is on the back..... maybe
early 60's?
I also found a "welcome aboard" pamphlet that I handed out for an open house. I
was topside watch on the foot of broadway here in San Diego.
Anyway, hope this stuff helps.....
