Jim,

I just spent some time on the Diodon web site this morning looking at the photos etc from 1967-1968. In one of the photos, submitted by David (or Dan) Robeson, he is receiving his promotion to SO2(SS). This ceremony took place at Mare Island Naval Shipyard [California] in April 1968. The sailor two over from Robeson on his right side is ME. The guy right next to Robeson was a guy named Rohrs. He was being promoted to IC2 (SS) and I was being promoted to TM2 (SS). I also have this photo in my mementos at home.

......... I am not sure on Rohr's first name. For some reason Jimmy comes to mind but I may be wrong. I just sent a couple of e-mails to guys from the boat. I got their e-mail addresses from the website. Bobby Manuel and Chuck Wasmuth. I used to chum around a bit with Bobby Manuel. I remember he had a girlfriend at that time who was in the Air Force in San Bernardino. Chuck Wasmuth and I played on the Diodon softball team while we were in Mare Island.
