Pretty sure he was a Ltjg at the time of this picture, and he was an ex-enlisted, (also qualified in submarines). Think he was a TM, but not sure of that. Think his first name was Dale, but not sure of that either.

.... Those two new photos by Pivo with the newly qualified group. The officer is Ltjg Del Trimble. He is a mustang - was an Engineman before getting his commission.

The crew member who is obscured is Darrel Ganskow, a SN at the time of the photo.
 
This photo as well as the one picturing the new petty officers were taken in Subic Bay, PI in approx Mar '57.
 
I enjoyed the new photos you posted of the crew from 52-54. I knew a lot of them as I reported aboard on Dec '54, but I can't help you out with the unidentified ones on the first panel. I'll look again more closely.
