A lot of bad things happen online, not to mention over the telephone. People get their identities stolen or are scammed all the time. Consumer Sentinel provides a wealth of information on frauds and identity theft.
The FTC manages the site, so you know the information is accurate. You can view trends and statistics. The numbers are fascinating. What you find may surprise you – it sure surprised me!
There are also tips to help you protect yourself from the bad guys. So don’t forget to check them out.
But I’ve saved the best for last. If you’re the victim of fraud or identity theft, you can file a complaint. It only takes a minute to complete the form.
The FTC doesn’t resolve individual complaints.
But it can lead to legal action. It’s another way to fight back.
