Hi Jim,  Here are three pictures for you.  They have to be from 1967-1968 westpac.  The whole album was waterlogged for two days before I got to it.  I touched them up some.  07 is Gary Netcher, Don Mitchell, and me.  08 is Abe Sanchez and 09 is Don Mitchell & friend.  Probably in Yokosuka.  If these come thru OK, I have a few more.

I am sending them to one of my other accounts too

08 is Abe Sanchez with lighten excerpt to try bring out his face a bit better

Hi Jim, Here are a few more. The "Big Budda" one is, I think, Gary Netcher. I zoomed in to 200% and it did not look like him, so I don't know. All I have on the back is information about the Budda. I think that the picture of the Diodon is in Hong Kong. I have some black & white ones of when we swallowed a valve but I can't seem to get them to attach. I will keep trying.

Jim,

I sure enjoyed these photos. As far as the unidentified shipmates I am really struggling. In the photos in front of the Buddah, the guy in the left photo looks like Edwards. The guy in the right photo resembles Gene Booth however, I am not sure Booth was on the WestPac trip or he joined us in the yards. I don't know the guy by the wishing well. Boy these brought back memories. I enjoyed a recent photo I saw of you. You sure haven't changed much. I will have someone take a photo of me and send it to you.

You probably won't recognize me.

Another American Submarine with crew on deck, perhaps for inspection, in Yokosuka, Japan?

From the aft sweep of her sail, it could be the USS Segundo (SS-398)  See bottom of this page.

Nice photo of Diodon tied up at Yokosuka, Japan and
enlarged excerpt of our old and gone boat

(Compare to Abe Sanchez photo 08 above, i.e. location of brow forward of Sail, etc. indicates Yokosuka, Japan, not Hong Kong.  See and compare to my photos from Hong Kong with view forward and view aft, with British war ship behind us.  Also, compare to Diodon photo at left, in Yokosuka, Japan)
