349-18 Tied up at the Army pier in Sasabo, Japan

We were the first sub in Sasabo since the war ended.  Had a ball!

....#18 was taken in the world's largest dry dock in Sasebo-where the battleship Yamato was built.  Perpendicular to our bow was the dock where the Army & Marines took off for Korea.  A sign above their dock read "Through This Port Pass The Best Damned Fighting Men In The World!"  ...
